What inspired you to pursue a career in celebrity photography? I feel like my life has always gravitated towards entertainment, even growing up. The people I surround myself with and the content I produced is very organic to my destiny
How do you find the right balance between capturing the essence of a celebrity and respecting their privacy? It’s very important to read the room, that is a skill that is as important as any other talent. I can tell instantly how much a celebrity/influencer wants to interact outside of their circle or comfort zone. Don’t ever feel pressured to invade someone’s space just to get content, it’s never worth it.
What do you think sets your work apart from other celebrity photographers/videographers? It’s the combination of doing video content as well, mixing it up, and thinking of content that is just more than BTS.
Can you walk us through your process of creating viral content? It all depends on what is trying to be achieved, to be honest, and who is involved. Usually, you can tell when content will go viral with the content subject matter but most of the time it’s a game of probability with the current state of the algorithm
How do you stay on top of the ever-changing social media landscape to ensure your content stays relevant and engaging? Taking small breaks so you can step back and oversee what the present-day social media landscapes look like. You can easily get caught up in trying to repeat success and get stuck in this endless loophole of repetitiveness
What advice would you give to aspiring celebrity photographers/videographers looking to break into the industry? Network as much as possible, that goes for clients and other creative artists as well. There is no one in any position that you shouldn’t network with
Have you ever faced any challenges or obstacles while creating viral content? How did you overcome them? Challenges would be depending on the environment you’re shooting in, weather plays a big part too. I have done a lot of viral content in Times Square. There are so many factors when it comes to shooting in that space, traffic, pedestrians, etc. The only way to overcome it is, through trial and error until you get it right
Can you share any particularly memorable or exciting experiences you’ve had while on a celebrity photo/video shoot? Nothing, in particular, comes to mind, they all have their special moments.
How do you approach building relationships with celebrities and their teams? Can’t act like a fan, act more like a friend/family. That will take you really far in this industry
What’s next for you in your career as a celebrity photographer/videographer? I am currently in a space right now where I am trying to find that out. I always feel like I can do more and do things on a bigger scale. Social media and audience needs are evolving rapidly, who knows what kind of content I will be creating 3–5 years from now, but I am very much looking forward to it!
