Question: How did the idea for your business come about?
Chef Glaze: The idea for this business came about as I got old and more curious about the culinary industry, I’ve reached a level where my creativity was limited and I wanted to explore my options to really follow this passion I have. Considering I haven’t found myself to be passionate about anything else my entire life. This became my safe place, My mom too, from being sad to overjoyed lonely or in a crowded room Cooking was always my way of shining so it was only natural that when the time came I wanted to be able to provide for my family as well as others through my cooking which led to starting Glaze Kitchen LLC.
Question: How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?
Chef Glaze: Finding the right people to join this company comes from finding people who are passionate and want more than just a check. I always tell my staff, what we’re creating is something that we can all call our own.
Not just another 9–5, but a place where we can call home. Glaze Kitchen is a small business that has the potential to grow and outlast its competitors in this culinary industry. Part of building something big is you have to start small, and starting small may mean starting with nothing but passion, discipline, motivation. Everyone one that to work for Glaze Kitchen is given a 4 hour test run where they can witness first hand how intense things can be at any giving moment, and to see if this is really something they’d like to be apart of, as we’re more than just a check and commitment is our top priority to building a team that can produce high quality services from low expectations. Everyone that works on this team has a story, and had nothing but with Glaze Kitchen they are able to see their full potential and of course the full potential of glaze kitchen.
Question: What three pieces of advice would you give to others who want to become entrepreneurs?
Chef Glaze: Anyone that wants to be an entrepreneur i Would suggest they do everything in their power to not be one. Once realizing that your true calling isn’t a 9–5 but to follow your dream that you’re so passionate about, then your next step is commitment. Committing to both the highs and the Lowes of being an entrepreneur which may mean falling 10, 001 times only to finally be able to comfortably stand 10, 002.
Question: If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
If I had the chance to start my career over again I would truly have contracts to protect myself from all the blind spots that creeped on me as I was building the business.
